The cyclic sprinkler test unit (CTU-1) is a 24-hour, 7 days a week fire sprinkler system monitoring and cyclic testing device that can monitor any given sprinkler system state for changes or faults, which in turn creates an alarm signal to notify engineers of an issue within the system before it becomes a problem.
The CTU saves the need for regular manual checks, as it removes the need for a site visit. The periodic test time is variable from 1 to 99 days this can save companies significant personnel costs, which can help improve profitability.
The system works constantly, and checks for faults within the system on a regular basis (set by the engineer at time of installation), notifying building owners or engineers as soon as an issue arises.
Typical Alarm Events:
- If an alarm is generated, then the internal and external sounder relay are activated and the open drain comms line is released for 2 seconds
- The alarm may be muted for 24 hours by pressing any key. The alarm will re-sound once the mute period has expired, unless the condition which caused the alarm has remedied
- There is no limit to the number of times this can occur
- If the condition which caused the alarm to occur is rectified whilst the alarm is muted, the alarm will not re-occur
Logging Data
The Cyclic Sprinkler Test Unit logs all alarm events, scheduled tests and manual tests with a time stamp to ensure accuracy and traceability of data. Up to 30 logs can be stored at any one time, with oldest logs being removed when new tests or alarm events are recorded.
